Driving a momentum of awareness is key to ensuring this issue remains at the forefront of development priority.
Women make up half of a society's population and give birth to 100% of its nations, yet women are still fighting for their equal place to exist peacefully and without violation of their rights all over the world. In Papua New Guinea over 67% of women are victims of violence and 1 in 3 are survivors of sexual assault. Pacific island nations throughout share similar tragic statistics. The Leniata Legacy, established in 23 April 2013, is an organisation primarily focused on driving awareness of gender-based violence that is hindering development goals of Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. From its establishment, The Leniata Legacy has grown into a group aligned with Australia and the Pacific in achieving shared empowerment objectives for both men and women in the fight against this global phenomenon.

Our empowerment projects are focused on building the individual's confidence, skills, talents and all-round value to society.
The Leniata Legacy drives ongoing charitable projects for Papua New Guinea and we endeavour to launch an official charity focused on enhancing our charitable goals.
